3rd Marking Period

                      Assignment #21 A&B
We used a new software called Google Sketch up. It allows us to create two and three dimensional shapes. For this project I created three shapes in 2D and
3D.

                           Assignment #21C
I spelled out my name using the the line tool, the rectangle tool and the arc tool. I then erased excess lines. Finally, I used the orbit tool to get a top view of the plane and used the push/pull tool to drag out the letters to make them 3D. I then changed the view to isometric so multiple views can be seen.

Assignment #22:

Block 1 (8' x 5' x 5')

Block 2 (8'x 5'x 5')

Block 3 (9' x 4'x 6')

Block 4 (7' x 6' x 4')

Block 5 (8' x 5' x 5')

 Block 6 (8' x 5' x 6')

Block 7 (8' x 5' x 6')

Block 8 (9' x 5' x 6')

Block 9 (9' x 4' x 6')
Block 10 (11' x 3' x 6')
Block 11 (8' x 5' x 6')
Block 12 (9' x 4' x 6')
To create each of these blocks I used the stencil too and the measuring tool to measure the length, width and height, I then used the push and pull tool to create a 3D look. After I created a solid box I used the stencil tool to outline the parts that I wanted to get rid of. I then used the the push and pull tool to remove the parts I didn't need. Lastly, I colored each block differently to give each of them a unique look.

Assignment #25- Power Button
 (QUIZ)

What is GIF?
A GIF  (Graphics Interchange Format) is an image file that is compressed to reduce transfer time.

How does animation work?
Animation works by presenting images with minor differences in a steady progression, so that it tricks the eye into believing that the image is actually moving.

2nd Marking Period 11-20

Assignment #11

This project was completely independent. We applied all things we have learned in the past marking period. First I used a linear gradient for the background then I used the glass and plastic effect for the text. The instructions for this project is on http://www.tutorialboard.net/plastic-text/ &  http://www.tutorialboard.net/photoshop-glass-text-effect/

                          Assignment #12

For this project I used the clipping mask to show a pattern on a suit. I then changed the opacity of the texture so it looked like it was on the suit. The step by step instructions for this project are on

http://www.tutorialboard.net/texture-layer-modes/

                                     Assignment #13
Original
Mimic

To create this mimic of a Food Bank NYC poster , I saved a picture of an open bag of chips and a picture of a bunch of grapes. I used the magic wand to crop out the chips in the bag in order to replace it with grapes. I opened a new layer and named it "background" and then placed my picture onto the background.

Assignment # 14a.

For this assignment I saved a picture of a brick wall and a Puerto Rican and Italain flag. I unlocked the layer of the brick wall and then dragged the picture of the flag onto the layer. I then adjusted the light and opacity of the picture.

                                                 Assignment # 14b.

For this assignment I essentially completed the same actions I did for the prior assignment. Instead of using a brick wall I used my face. After that was completed I used thwe smudge tool on Photoshop and went over my corrections so they would look more precise. In the end i was able to make the flags fit my face as if they were a mask.

                        Assignment #15
For this assignment I applied a motion blur filter for the whole image then used the brush tool to take the blur away from the helicopter.
*******************************************
Assignment #16

For this assignment I used the brush tool to highlight the area in which I wanted to alter. For the windows I used a gradient and set the opacity to 30 percent to resemble a window tint. While setting the opacity to 30 also I decided to stay with a regular red paint for the headlights.

Assignment #17
For this assignment I applied a blur filter on the whole picture then used the brush tool to erase the filter from the eyes, nostrils, lips, eyebrows, hair, and clothing.

Quiz

Why smart filter? What is the difference between normal and smart filter?

A smart filter is a easier and more accurate way to apply a filter to a picture. The difference between a normal and smart filter is the normal one selects only what you want it to. While the smart filter is applied to the object as a smart object.

What is quick Masking? Why bother if I can just select with marquees or lasso tool?

Quick Masking is when you select a part of an image you want to edit. It highlights the part of the picture you want to select.Quick masking is quicker to use than marquees or lasso tools, which in the case of marquees there is a set shape and the lasso tool which you have to manually trace out the part you want to edit.

We added a couple of things to the original picture to get this "glow" - what were they? And at what layer did you 'take away' to create the final effect?
To get the "glow" we duplicated the layer with the image and then converted to smart filters. We added "gaussian blur." We also changed the lighting to "screen" and added a layer mask. With the brush tool, we selected airbrush and removed the filter from the image (background layer.) This gave the impression that  the skin was glowing, when in reality we had the whole picture glow and removed the effect from several areas in the face.

Assignment #18
For this project we used Adobe Illustrator. To complete this project I followed the steps on http://www.tutorialboard.net/create-realistic-pendriveas-adobe-illustrator/. Basically we made shapes such as, trapezoids, squares, rectangles, circles, and rounded rectangles, and configured them a certain way to appear as a flash drive (USB).
************************************
Assignment #19
For this project I fully explored all the shapes on Adobe Illustrator. To write my name I used the arc and line segment tools.
***************************************
Assignment #19b
For this project we made different types of shapes and use the minus front tool to delete one whole side of the shapes. Then we learned how to use the divide function by inserting a rectangle in the previous shape then deleting the rectangle so we are left with the four corners of the original rounded rectangle.
*****************************************
Assignment #20: Phone Test
Day 1: We created the base of the phone and the beginnings of the screen using the rectangle tool and rounding the corners out when necessary.
Day 2: We placed a gradient on our screen with a white rectangle and by adjusting the opacity made it look like a glare. Using the ellipse tool we created two buttons and put them under the screen.
Day 3: We completed the buttons and added a circle in the center to simulate a pad. We then used the pathfinder tool to divide the pad to make it a directional pad. After this we added the details such as the arrows and button symbols.
Day 4: We repeated the steps we followed to create the previous buttons to create the number buttons. To multiply the buttons themselves we used the distort and transform option. Then we added the necessary numbers and letters.
Day 5: For the completion of this test we added the ear speaker and mic.

Reflection on the 2nd Marking Period
For my grade in the second marking period I believe I deserve at least a 95 due to the fact that I completed all of my assignments and received the lowest grade of an 80. Other than that one 80 the rest of my grades were between 90-100. My favorite project was number 14b: Mask Creation. This was my favorite because I was able to represent both of my ethnicities by putting their flags on my face like a mask. My least favorite was the Phone Test because of the amount of steps needed to complete the assignment.
